Datenschutzerklärung
1. Verantwortlicher
Verantwortlich für die Verarbeitung personenbezogener Daten im Zusammenhang mit der App „Wo War Ich“ ist Bernd Meitzler, Kontaktdaten siehe Impressum.
2. Grundsatz
Die App arbeitet ohne Benutzerkonto. Der Entwickler betreibt keinen Server, der Daten aus der App empfängt. Die App enthält keine Werbung, keine Analyse- oder Tracking-Werkzeuge und keine Absturzberichte, die an Dritte übermittelt werden. Alle Standortdaten, Notizen und Fotos bleiben auf deinem Gerät beziehungsweise in deinem eigenen iCloud-Konto.
3. Welche Daten die App verarbeitet
- Standort: Beim Speichern eines Standorts liest die App die aktuellen GPS-Koordinaten aus. Die Berechtigung gilt nur während der Nutzung der App. Die Koordinaten werden zusammen mit einer laufenden Nummer und dem Zeitpunkt gespeichert.
- Notizen: Freitext bis 60 Zeichen, den du selbst eingibst.
- Fotos: Du kannst ein Foto mit der Kamera aufnehmen oder aus deiner Fotomediathek auswählen. Die App speichert nur die von dir ausgewählten Fotos, verkleinert und verschlüsselt (AES-256-GCM).
- Verschlüsselungsschlüssel: Der Schlüssel für die verschlüsselte Speicherung liegt im Schlüsselbund (Keychain) deines Geräts. Ist der iCloud-Schlüsselbund aktiviert, wird er über dein Apple-Konto mit deinen anderen Geräten synchronisiert.
- Kaufstatus: Für die Vollversion wird der In-App-Kauf über Apple (StoreKit) abgewickelt. Die App erfährt nur, ob der Kauf besteht. Zahlungsdaten erhält der Entwickler nicht.
4. iCloud
Wenn du in deinen iCloud-Einstellungen iCloud Drive für die App aktiviert hast, werden deine Standortdaten und verschlüsselten Fotos im iCloud-Dokumentenspeicher der App abgelegt und zwischen deinen Geräten abgeglichen. Diese Daten liegen in deinem iCloud-Konto. Der Entwickler hat darauf keinen Zugriff. Ohne iCloud werden die Daten nur lokal auf dem Gerät gespeichert.
5. Karte
Die Kartenansicht nutzt Apple Maps (MapKit). Dabei gelten die Datenschutzbestimmungen von Apple: apple.com/de/legal/privacy.
6. Export und Import
Du kannst deine Standorte als CSV-Datei exportieren und wieder importieren. Der Export erfolgt nur auf deine Veranlassung über den Teilen-Dialog deines Geräts. Die Datei enthält Koordinaten, Notizen und Zeitstempel, keine Fotos. Was danach mit der Datei geschieht, entscheidest du selbst.
7. Berechtigungen
- Standort (bei Nutzung der App): Zum Speichern des aktuellen Standorts und zur Anzeige auf der Karte.
- Kamera: Zum Aufnehmen von Fotos für einen Standort.
- Fotomediathek: Zum Auswählen von Fotos. Dafür wird keine systemweite Berechtigung benötigt, du wählst die Fotos einzeln aus.
Du kannst diese Berechtigungen jederzeit in den Einstellungen deines Geräts ändern.
8. Speicherdauer und Löschung
Die Daten bleiben gespeichert, bis du sie in der App löschst (einzelne Standorte, einzelne Fotos oder alle Standorte) oder die App deinstallierst. Daten in deinem iCloud-Konto löschst du über iCloud. Ein Fotodatei wird beim Entfernen des Fotos oder des Standorts gelöscht.
9. Weitergabe an Dritte
Die App gibt keine Daten an Dritte weiter. Eine Weitergabe findet nur statt, wenn du selbst einen Export teilst oder die Dienste von Apple (Karte, iCloud, Kauf) nutzt.
10. Deine Rechte
Du hast das Recht auf Auskunft, Berichtigung, Löschung, Einschränkung der Verarbeitung und Datenübertragbarkeit sowie das Recht, der Verarbeitung zu widersprechen. Da der Entwickler keine Daten von dir erhält, kann er Anfragen dieser Art nur insoweit beantworten, wie sie sich auf Daten beziehen, die dir selbst gehören. Außerdem hast du das Recht, dich bei der für dich zuständigen Datenschutz-Aufsichtsbehörde zu beschweren.
11. Änderungen
Wir passen diese Erklärung an, wenn sich die Funktionen der App ändern. Es gilt die jeweils aktuelle Fassung auf dieser Seite.

Privacy policy
1. Controller
Bernd Meitzler is responsible for the processing of personal data in connection with the app “Wo War Ich”. Contact details: see legal notice above.
2. Principle
The app works without a user account. The developer operates no server that receives data from the app. The app contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking tools, and no crash reports sent to third parties. All location data, notes and photos stay on your device or in your own iCloud account.
3. Data processed by the app
- Location: When you save a location, the app reads the current GPS coordinates. The permission applies only while you use the app. The coordinates are stored together with a running number and the time.
- Notes: Free text up to 60 characters that you type yourself.
- Photos: You can take a photo with the camera or choose one from your photo library. The app stores only the photos you select, scaled down and encrypted (AES-256-GCM).
- Encryption key: The key for encrypted storage is kept in the Keychain of your device. If iCloud Keychain is enabled, it is synchronised through your Apple account with your other devices.
- Purchase status: The full version is purchased as an in-app purchase handled by Apple (StoreKit). The app only learns whether the purchase exists. The developer does not receive payment data.
4. iCloud
If you have enabled iCloud Drive for the app in your iCloud settings, your location data and encrypted photos are stored in the app’s iCloud document storage and synchronised between your devices. This data is kept in your iCloud account, and the developer has no access to it. Without iCloud, the data is stored only on the device.
5. Map
The map view uses Apple Maps (MapKit). Apple’s privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.
6. Export and import
You can export your locations as a CSV file and import them again. Export happens only when you start it, through your device’s share sheet. The file contains coordinates, notes and timestamps, but no photos. What happens to the file afterwards is up to you.
7. Permissions
- Location (while using the app): To save your current location and show it on the map.
- Camera: To take photos for a location.
- Photo library: To choose photos. No system-wide permission is needed, because you select each photo individually.
You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings.
8. Retention and deletion
Data is kept until you delete it in the app (single locations, single photos or all locations) or uninstall the app. You delete data in your iCloud account through iCloud. A photo file is deleted when you remove the photo or the location.
9. Disclosure to third parties
The app does not pass data on to third parties. Data leaves your device only if you share an export yourself or use Apple services (maps, iCloud, purchase).
10. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Because the developer does not receive any of your data, requests of this kind can only concern data that belongs to you. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority responsible for you.

We update this policy when the app’s features change. The current version on this page applies.
